NLR Crime Scene Officers take information on bullets, shooting near Indian Hills Elementary. 7:30 PM UPDATE: back at the station now.  A LR officer was injured when he was trying to stop 2 people from breaking into his white honda accord.  You can see it with the trunk open above.  It’s in the parking lot of NLR First United Methodist Chruch.  Let me rephrase, the two suspects were ALREADY in his car when he happened upon them.  Some shots were fired and the off-duty officer was hit by a car driven by one of the suspects.  He went to the hospital but he’s ok, he’s going to be released soon. A crazy and scary incident, especially since kids were on the playground at NLR First United Methodist Church and heard the shots, saw people running etc.  Could have been a lot worse.  Parents were remarkably calm out there, kids were just fine too.  One of the kids asked his dad if this meant they didn’t have to go to school tomorrow.  His dad smiled and said, “no, you’re going to school.”
